Narrative learning embodies four types of narratives: cultural, familial, individual, and organizational narratives. These types of narratives take different forms, such as case studies, role-playing, and storytelling through fiction. Constructing narratives are integral to making sense of the experiences we face. We often navigate the complexities of ourselves by reshaping the life narratives. This is an ongoing process that involves constant revision accommodating to new insights and perspectives. These narratives are influenced by cultural norms, shaping the lens through which we view and share our stories.

This style of learning extends past personal reflection, which involves active engagement from learners.
